Why $75?

The Trinity Western University Student Association (TWUSA) is the student-elected leadership and exists for three core reasons: Community, Services, and Advocacy. The Student Association Fee of $75 pays for these student benefits. TWUSA’s services include free printing, coffee, tea, hot-chocolate, equipment use, and bicycle rentals. It also covers the cost of the production of Trinity’s biweekly student newspaper, Mars’ Hill, and the annual Pillar yearbook. TWUSA also hosts over a dozen campus-wide events, as well as school and faculty-specific events and sets aside a portion of the Student Association Fee in order to fund student-originated campus initiatives.

  • Administration:

    This accounts for all of the grants for the members of TWUSA as well as all of the funding for the TWUSA lounge! This includes the coffee bar, Spotify for the lounge, miscellaneous upgrades to the lounge, the printer and much more!

    Capital Projects:

    The capital projects portion of the budget is specifically for special projects on campus that TWUSA funds.

    Pillar Yearbook:

    This accounts for all the Pillar team grants as well as every single yearbook that is printed for the TWU student body. This also includes various equipment upgrades and replacements.

    Mars Hill:

    Accounts for all the newspaper printing costs, as well as the grants for all of the student leaders involved. This also includes various equipment upgrades and replacements.

    Events:

    Every event that is TWUSA funded or run comes from this section of the budget. We dedicate a specific section to host fun and community building events across campus for every TWU student.

    Grants:

    Grants portion of the budget accounts for the CanAm hockey and soccer games, career fairs, and open mic nights!

    Operations:

    The Operations portion of the budget accounts for various rentals and upgrades to equipment.

    Communications:

    The Communications budget is dedicated to publicity and advertising for various events, giveaways, TWU initiatives and creative platforms used by the marketing team.
